I'm a comparative philologist and historian of philosophy. I work mostly with texts, mostly in Greek, Latin, Egyptian, Akkadian, Sanskrit, and the medieval Germanic languages. I'm interested in philosophy and poetry recorded in these languages, and especially in connections between traditions. I'm also interested in the development of intellectual professions in the ancient world.
